Product Description
The Sunrise Medical Empulse M90 Power Assist replaces standard rear wheels with powered 24” drive wheels, integrating motor, electronics and battery within the hub. This maintains the wheelchair’s original width and preserves compatibility with preferred tyres and handrims.
Controlled via a wireless joystick with all-way toggle, the M90 drives like a compact power wheelchair. The controller mounts to the frame or attaches to the thigh using an adjustable strap. It detaches easily for transfers.
With a total system weight of 11.9 kg (5.9 kg per wheel including battery), the M90 is one of the lightest wheel drive power assist systems in its category. Weight remains centred on the wheels, supporting natural handling and manoeuvrability.
Users can switch between powered drive and free-roll mode. In free-roll, there is no motor resistance, allowing manual propulsion as normal.
Integrated cruise control, terrain adjustment and hill control functions support confident driving across varied environments. Removable lithium-ion batteries charge on or off the wheelchair and are approved for air travel (airline confirmation required).
