Overview:

The Quattro Acute Alternating Air Mattress is the premium 1-in-4 alternating pressure care solution designed for individuals at very high risk of pressure injuries. The Quattro Acute combines advanced pressure redistribution technology with its unique deep cell therapy to provide pressure injury prevention and treatment for the most dependent users and acute care settings.

Description

The Talley Quattro Acute Mattress provides premium 1-in-4 alternating pressure therapy with a specialised deep cell configuration. This design ensures 75% of the body remains supported throughout the cycle, while individual cells deflate to promote tissue reperfusion and reduce pressure points.

Unique to the Acute model, deep cell therapy enables operation at lower internal pressures – reducing strain on skin and subcutaneous tissues. Combined with Tissuegard technology, the system promotes partial immersion and envelopment, reducing shear and enhancing comfort.

Ortho-Differential Support (ODS) creates firmer side edges for safer transfers, while maintaining a softer centre for lighter individuals. Auto Support further enhances responsiveness, adjusting pressures automatically based on the individual’s weight, movement and posture.

Multiple therapy modes – including continuous low pressure and maximum inflation – support changing clinical requirements.

A silent, energy-saving pump reduces noise and power use, while the waterproof multi-stretch cover protects skin integrity and internal components.

The Quattro Acute is designed for hospital, home and residential settings where pressure injury risk is very high.

Who it’s for

  • For clients who require advanced therapy and are at very high risk of pressure injuries.
  • For therapists managing complex clinical needs in acute or high-dependency environments.

Key features

  • Active 1-in-4 cell cycle – supports 75% of the patient’s body at all times, on groups of three inflated cells, whilst the fourth cell deflates sufficiently to redistribute the pressure and encourage tissue reperfusion. Additional benefits include enhanced patient comfort, less awareness of support surface movement and a reduction of stimulus-related complications such as muscle spasm
  • Deep cell therapy – allows the cells to operate at lower internal pressures to minimise the pressure applied to the patient’s skin and subcutaneous tissues during the cycles
  • Tissuegard air cell – ‘Tissuegard’ enables the partial immersion and envelopment of the patient into the support surface, reducing the pressure on the patient’s skin and decreasing the pressure differential between inflated and deflated cells, which helps reduce tissue strain and associated shearing forces.
  • Ortho-differential support – ‘ODS’ results in firmer outer edges of the mattress which facilitate patient transfers and provide extra support, safety and comfort for larger or heavier patients. It also creates a softer central area of the mattress, ideal for smaller, lighter patients.
  • Auto Support – ‘Auto Support’ automatically adjusts pressure within each of the cells throughout the cycle so that support, posture and therapy are constantly maintained at optimum levels, in response to patient weight, movement and position. Equalisation of cell pressure automatically takes place at each stage of the cycle, again to ensure precise pressure and therapy is applied.
  • Reactive therapy – reactive therapy enhances patient immersion and envelopment into the mattress and applies a constant low pressure to the skin and subcutaneous tissue
  • Comfort control – allows the carer to adjust the comfort setting in either therapy mode to help patient compliance.
  • Phase flow – ‘Phase Flow’ pressure control pump operates on demand only, reducing power consumption, noise and extending service life.
  • Continuous low pressure – when in Continuous Low Pressure mode pressure is equalised within the cells to create a reactive therapy surface, allowing greater immersion and envelopment into the mattress and optimum pressure distribution
  • Pressure relieving stretch cover – the multi-stretch cover promotes tissue offloading during cell deflation and reduces shear and friction during patient movement or manual repositioning. The material is waterproof, moisture-vapour permeable and all seams are welded to protect the inside of the mattress from fluid ingress
  • Maximum inflation – inflates the mattress to maximum static pressure for 15 minutes before returning to previous therapy mode, necessary for some nursing procedures when an active support surface is unsuitable
  • Low air loss – air is released and circulated beneath the mattress cover to reduce humidity and help manage the skin ‘microclimate’ between the patient and the support surface.
  • CPR facility – for simple and effective rapid deflation to enable CPR procedures
  • Cable management system – in-built cable management system to enhance safety and usability in clinical and homecare settings
