Description
The Permobil Explorer Mini Power Wheelchair is an early childhood mobility solution developed to help young children with mobility impairments build foundational motor and cognitive skills. With clinical prescription, it promotes independent movement during a critical stage of development.
Its compact, transportable design weighs just 23.6 kg and is ideal for home, childcare and community environments. Unlike standard powerchairs, the Explorer Mini encourages upright postures with multiple weight-bearing surfaces, supporting postural control, strength and endurance.
The integrated table and backrest offer gentle support while allowing freedom of movement. An adjustable saddle seat promotes hip positioning and can be removed to facilitate partial standing activities.
At the centre is a midline proportional joystick with a bright yellow ball handle, encouraging visual tracking, grasp and bilateral hand use. The intuitive interface offers multisensory input to support upper limb development in a playful, engaging way.
By enabling safe, independent movement at a young age, the Explorer Mini helps support on-time developmental milestones and greater inclusion in daily family life.
